Face Value
Who is the course for?
A one day course for Christians interested in, or who have experience of working with young people. No previous drama experience necessary, however, a willingness to actively explore drama based activity is an essential requirement.
Course Content:
- Face value invites participants to experience and practice a variety of drama based methods for use with young people.
The focus being exploring some of In Yer Face’s tried and tested uses of theatre and drama to engage, involve and educate young people, offering participants useful techniques in order to:
- Explore issues young people face
- Actively apply Bible teaching to issues, through the use of drama
- Use theatre as means of evangelism
- Work with resistance
- Create a safe and relevant environment for experiential learning to take place
Space is created for participants to try out the techniques for themselves, and look at how they might integrate them into their own skills base.
Number of participants:
- In order for participants to experience the maximum potential of Face Value, a minimum of 8 people / maximum of 30 people are needed for the course.
Where:
- One day courses can be delivered in your own region.
Face Facts – The Training Event Show
In addition to the evangelistic performances in repertoire, In Yer Face can specifically tailor a show for training purposes to suit your specific needs.
Face Facts is a specifically devised piece used to raise questions and explore resolution through Christian teaching with issues young people face.
With prior notice, In Yer Face can design specific scenes to meet the needs of your organisation or event. Using the medium of forum theatre and improvisation, your staff or clients can advise the actors in how to resolve conflict, making use of faith, with the benefit of seeing their own advice enacted before them.
Drawing on our vast experience of working with young people in diverse environments enables us to portray young people in real life situations accurately and sensitively for a wide range of training purposes.
